Apple has never failed to pique the interests of its customers. Leaks and rumors of the latest iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus did not deter all Apple lovers. In fact, I believe it only heightened their yearning to own the latest iPhone. iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are sold by both local networks in Jamaica. Though Apple didn’t produce as many surprises as one would have liked, Apple fans still desired the latest iPhone. The Apple iPhone7 and iPhone7 Plus were destined to be the best sellers on the Smartphone market.
The question to be asked about these new iPhones is “Are the iPhones 7 and 7 Plus really that remarkable?” These iPhones that are for sale in Jamaica are sold as higher end priced mobile devices. So they must be super remarkable! They may resemble the previous year’s models but they do have amazing capabilities. Let’s take a look at the iPhone 7 specs.
Apple’s new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus might look like the previous year’s model from afar, but there are a number of improvements to the design. A number of stores sell the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus in Jamaica island wide that highlight it features as that of a superior mobile phone that appeals to everyone’s senses. Added to the iPhone 7 specs is the redesigned antennas that have been made to look much less offensive. Also, the camera bump is now carved out of the same aluminum as the rest of the housing for a more seamless look and feel.
Apple’s new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus specs feature power by a new A10 Fusion SoC.
The A10 is a 64-bit quad-core chipset, including two high-performance cores that run 40% faster than the A9 chip, and two high-efficiency cores with one-fifth as much power for better battery life when you don’t need all that power.
There’s also a new six-core GPU that is 50% faster than the A9. It also consumes only two-thirds as much power as last year’s A9.
Apple says the new A10 Fusion is the most powerful chip that has ever been in a smartphone.
Apple’s updated Retina HD displays are 25% brighter than the screens on the previous year’s iPhones. Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will still support 3D Touch, of course, as well as enhanced color management.
That’s right folks, the storage has been doubled. Another of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus specs is its storage capacity. The base model will now include 32GB of storage, the mid-tier model has 128GB and the top tier packs 256GB of storage.
Apple says the iPhone 7 will last at least 2 more hours of battery during daily usage compared to the 6s, and the iPhone 7 Plus will offer at least 1 more hour compared to the 6s Plus.
iPhone 7 camera
Apple’s has completely revamped the iPhone 7 camera specs. Here are the highlights:
- Optical image stabilization
- 6-element lens
- 60% faster and 30% more energy-efficient 12-megapixel sensor
- Quad-LED True Tone flash
- New image signal processor with twice the throughput of Apple’s earlier ISP
- 7-megapixel front-facing camera
iPhone 7 Plus camera
Apple’s new dual-lens camera on the iPhone 7 Plus is even better. It features a new zoom feature that makes use of not one but two 12-megapixel rear cameras — one with a wide-angle 28mm lens and one 56mm telephoto lens. As a result, the 7 Plus provides a zoom feature that is hardware zoom up to 2x, and software zoom up to 10x.
Additionally, the new iPhone 7 Plus dual camera setup has a new feature that creates a bokeh effect enabled by the dual-lens setup. It applies a blur effect to the background in photos that mirrors photos taken on a DSLR camera. The depth effect on the new iPhone 7 Plus can be enabled or disabled in the camera app, and the phone even provides a live preview of the effect on your screen before you take a photo.
The bokeh effect won’t be available at launch, interestingly. Instead, it will come in a software update.
New home button
The new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have an updated home button that, as we expected, has been updated with Force Touch support and a new Taptic engine.
Apple will keep silver, gold and rose gold around, but space gray is now gone. Instead, there will be a new “black” color that looks like a darker space gray, and a high-gloss “jet black” color that’s unlike anything we’ve seen on an aluminum smartphone. Jet Black will only be available on the 128GB and 256GB versions of both new iPhone model.
Water and dust-resistance
That’s right Apple fans, your new iPhones can take a swim and come out just fine. Apple says the new iPhones 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have an IP67 rating.
There’s no 3.5mm audio port on the latest iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus. There are stereo speakers on the new models though, and they’re 50% louder than the old speaker on Apple’s iPhones.
Lightning EarPods replace the old models. There will also be a Lightning to mini photo adapter included in the box.
Apple says the analog headphone jack has been removed for two main reasons:
- Lightning is a better connector for audio
- It frees up space for other components
New wireless tech
Apple’s new W1 chip offers a new type of wireless technology that will be available across Apple devices. To pair one device with another, you simply place them near each other.
For example, when you open the charging case of a new pair of AirPods wireless earbuds, you’ll see a dialog box appear on your new iPhone 7. Tap to confirm and you’re done — no pairing, no hassle. Apple Watch will also connect using Apple’s new wireless tech.
New Beats headphones will also support the new W1 chip.
